FujiFilm FinePix Z10fd : The teenager’s venture into great photography

Fruity colors seem to be the hottest thing this season, whether its USB keys, the ever shortening skirts, mobile phones, or well better still, digital cameras. What I’m talking about IS FujiFilm’s trendy tot-cam. Apart from being available in 7 attractive colors for the stylish youngsters, this one also packs in face recognition, auto-red eye correction, a dual-shot mode, xD/SD/SDHC support, and an over-inflated “blog mode” which quickly resizes any image into VGA or QVGA sizes. As if that’s not enough, it also arms kids with the ability to share their snaps with any IrSimple capable infrared device. Cool init? I mean the plethora of options kids have these days, I wonder how I grew up without enjoying all these. Due to launch in September, this one clicks in some 7.2 megapixel capacity. Pretty neat, I think. Kids don’t need to worry about having a camera which whoozes water when clicked. They can seem completely in tune with technology with this made to order camera.

ReviewWatch: Fujifilm IS Pro DSLR

Our dear colleagues at ReviewBooth just published a review of Fuji’s newest digital SLR, the Fujifilm IS Pro Review. The bottomline: The reviewers call the IS PRO a camera “especially designed to record non-visible light which makes it a perfect camera for law enforcement, scientific, fine art and medical communities.”
The latest Fuji DSLR is expected to be available in the U.S. only. Apparently the company will offer four differnt kits ranging from $2600 (for the body only) and $5000 with the Zeiss 50mm lens f2 with Macro (1:2 ratio).
And, hey, remember, as with all Fuji SLR’s and DSLR’s, this one also takes Nikon lenses - our once and forever favourite lens maker on the planet …

High Speed Photography: Capturing car races with the Distacam

Imagine you get free tickets to this amazing NASCAR car race show and although you’re jumping crazy with excitement in your seats in the stadium, you can’t but sincerely wish you could get the ultimate stills to show your family at home, who were not so lucky with the free tickets as you were.
If you’ve been in a situation like the one mentioned above, the good news is that you might never encounter one again (not free tickets, I mean the still-photo worries), coz a guy named Rick Graves seem to now have something that can truly capture that breathtaking or breaking moment in the most exact way! Well, he can’t stop time for sure, but what he can do for you is offer you (for a price of course), his Distacam (which is what he calls it right now) that can capture stills of speeding cars at just the right moment. Sanyo Xacti VPC-HD2: Way too bulky - and not quite functional
With the new Xacti VPC-HD2 Japanese CE company Sanyo just released another addition to the petite collection of hybrid HD cameras. However, reviewers are pretty skeptical: According to testers from
Dcresource.com the VPCHD2 gets to take crisp still shots alright but only if you set the shoot to lower ISO. Image noises are just so visible at higher ISO settings. Under low ISO, the shots are good. It has no lighting adjustment capability also. Read more
