Canon H1S / XL H1A HD: Get more for less cash with Canon’s new H1 series

My beloved Canon just released the XL H1S and XL H1A HD camcorders , a timely update to their XL H1 1080i Pro. This updated model, however, is priced at only $5,999, way cheaper than the $8,999 price tag of its predecessor.

Canon says the new models are packed with more advanced features but looks like the updates are only minor. But they are still good with the $3,000 off the predecessor’s price as well as added studio output options, Speedlite shoe mount, and expanded image control.

Other specs include: more ergonomic 20X HD zoom lens, 1.67 Megapixel CCD Image Sensors, and the 2-year old DIGIC DVII HD Image Processor feature, which could they have also updated.
