ARRI Lighting at NAB 2008If you’re a photographer and have a studio that does major shows for the who’s who of the world, you know for sure that one investment you’re always bound to carefully make is the lighting equipment. So if you’ve been anywhere at the NAB show at Vegas last this week, you know you had the opportunity to feast your eyes on ARRI’s newest generation of lighting called ‘True Blue’.

It displayed only its best apparently, and the key enhancements to the existing range includes making them adaptable to accessories.

You can be sure it won’t come clumbing down if you put up some heavyweight accessories on it, especially if you’re a lover of the chunky ones. That apart, it’s also reduced weight, compact in size, and offers maximum light output.

In addition, a new stirrup centre adjustment allows the lamphead to slide until its centre of gravity is either at or near the tilt lock, depending on the accessories attached. So if you have a studio that can make even an elephant look like Marylin Monroe, you know the right amount of makeup could take it to a whole new world, so maybe if you had the money, you could go invest in some of these. Let’s hope it’s as good as the hoopla surrounding it.
