Canon 40D DSLR Reviewed: Not as sharp as the 30D

Canon’s 40D DSLR is a a step above the Rebel series cams, ideal for the prosumers.

The good: Features Canon’s latest DIGIC III processor and live view. Enhanced light performance. Autofocus was generally faster. 3-inch LCD is extremely useful for field proofing.

The bad: Autofocus sometimes wonky in low light.

The bottom line: 40D is a little underwhelming compared to the Nikon D300 with it’s many more AF points and serious and more impressive low noise

Price: Starting at $1,499.
