Nikon: New D60 10 MegaPix DLSR debuts, new Nikon Nikkor lenses

Okay, this Nikon DSLR isn’t full-frame either, but their new low-ender is now (officially) the D60, which enters the scene with a 10.2 megapixel sensor, 2.5-inch LCD (nope, not live-view), SDHC, vibration sensor cleaning, and an even smaller body than the D40x. Nikon claims February (but also March) shipment, with no price yet given.

Focussing trouble: Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10K reviewed

Panasonic’s latest Digital SLR (DSLR), the Lumix DMC-L10K, has according to Reviewers at Cnet trouble with focusing under low light conditions. Additionally Cnet reports, the super pricy $1300 digital Single-Reflex camera tops out at ISO speeds of 1,600, and its live mode has limited functionality when using most lenses.
Another minus for the latest Panasonic: So far the Lumix DMC-L10K is exclusively available as a kit. Read the full review at Cnet.

Nikon D300: U.S. retailers take pre-orders for latest Nikon DSLR

U.S. retailers such as the Wolf Camera/Ritz Camera chain just started taking the first orders for Nikon’s latest DLSR, the highly anticipated Nikon D300 Digital SLR Camera. Don’t miss to be one of the first to firmly establish your place in line for this exciting new camera. Typically the pr-orders are always filled in the order that they are placed, and orderers credit cards will not be charged until their item has been shipped.

The D300 will be available from Nikon Authorized Dealers beginning in November 2007 for an estimated selling price of $1800. With the introduction of the D300, Nikon’s current lineup of digital SLR cameras now includes the new D3, D2XS, D300, D200, D80, D40x and D40.

Casio Protoype: Shooting 60 Frames per Second

During the current IFA 2007 Consumer electronics show in Berlin, Germany, Japanse powerhouse Casio displays a prototype digital camera that is capable of taking still images at an impressive speed of 60 frames per second (fps) and movies at 300fps . The Casio prototype features six megapixel CMOS sensor and a high speed LSI image processing chip to process all of that massive data as qucikly as possible. Read more

Under pressure: Canon will soon launch new camera series to compete with Nikon

Just a day after Nikon Corp. released a new series of pro-class digital SLR cameras(DSLR) Canon also unveiles a new lineup of digital cameras including high-end SLRs (DSLR’s) and more.
According to Tokyo-based research group BCN, Canon has lost market share to Nikon in the last couple of years among customers in Japan. However, Canon still leads the industry and maintains a substantial lead over Nikon in global sales when it comes to midprice as well as high-end SLR and DSLR cameras. Currently the most anticipated DSLR by Canon in the pro segment is the EOS-1Ds Mark III. The top-of-the-line Canon features a 21.1-megapixel resolution and five-frames-per-second continuous shooting.
